Zane Peterson

Zane Peterson is a licensed managing broker servicing Central Illinois with an emphasis on local residential sales and commercial real estate transactions across the central Illinois area. Zane is a proud Decatur resident, graduate from Millikin University, local business owner and supporter, golfer, dog lover, and advocate for all things “Decatur”. Zane’s fiancé, Taylor, is also a real estate broker in the Central Illinois Area and together they sell real estate, as well as invest in real estate. Consequently, they spend a lot of time at the hardware stores picking out the newest upgrades for their investment projects. Zane helps lead a dynamic real estate brokerage team, based in Decatur. He also manages a small, yet growing, personal real estate portfolio (both commercial and residential investment properties). Real Estate has always been a large passion for Zane’s and was introduced to it by his father at a young age. He firmly believes in continuing education and self-improvement. In the Spring of 2016, Zane enrolled in the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Institute. Currently, he is pursuing his CCIM designation as a CCIM Candidate. Professionally, Zane is a member of numerous trade organizations including the National Association of Realtors, Illinois Association of Realtors, Central Illinois Board of Realtors, CCIM, ICSC, and Worldwide ERC. In 2019, Zane obtained his certification of U.S. Tax Treatment of Home-Purchase Plans. In addition to professional organizations and achievements, Zane has the opportunity to serve in a few local organizations including the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce, The Decatur Club, and Rotary Club of Decatur. While obtaining his bachelor's degree in Business Finance, Zane enjoyed four years competing on the Millikin University golf team. The game of golf has attributed to much of his current success- Zane loves the never-ending challenge and competition! Although Zane is originally from the north shore of Chicago, after spending time in central Illinois he grew to appreciate all that Decatur had to offer. Upon graduating from Millikin, Zane helped launch and manage a local quick-service restaurant with the help of family and friends, which also contributed to his desire to remain a Decatur resident for the long-term. Everyday Zane is thrilled to pursue his passion while sharing the experience with both natives and newcomers to Decatur and the surrounding central Illinois area.
