Ty Boyd

Ty Boyd was raised on a small mountain farm just outside of Waynesville, where he continues to grow fresh local produce. He feels truly fortunate to have been raised and live in such an awe-inspiring, bountiful landscape, teaming with endless character, personality, and deeply rooted cultures. The influence of his Cherokee and Southern Appalachian cultures, as well as their way of living, has instilled within Ty a broad knowledge of the area and profound fascination of this region. After graduating Tuscola High School, Ty earned a degree from NC State University in Horticulture and Ag Business Management, later earning a graduate degree from Purdue University in Forest Ecology. However, Ty feels he can now attest that there is something about the mountains that calls you home. Western North Carolina does so with such grace and fortitude. For this reason, everyone who lives or visits here falls in love with the area.
