Thomas Marten

Growing up in central Indiana, Tom spent his childhood laboring on the family farm and gaining first-hand experience on Marten Construction Management’s job sites. Established by Tom’s father, Marten Construction has always been a part of Tom’s life allowing him to grow in his passion for building from a very young age. Tom is a Cathedral High School Alumni and continued his education at the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology. Tom always planned to return to Marten Construction, but before doing so, he felt it was important to work with other companies in the industry to observe how successful businesses operate while deepening his understanding of the various aspects of construction. Tom began his career as a Superintendent with Pulte Homes of Ohio followed by Project Manager roles with Bryden Construction and Ohio Interiors. In 2007, Tom returned to Indiana and rejoined Tom Marten Sr. at Marten Construction Management and in 2019, Tom took over as Owner and President of the company. Tom prides himself on being a true expert in construction best practices and continues to run Marten Construction based on its founding principle of delivering exceptional service to all of their clients. Tom is married to Ali Marten, one of Indianapolis’ top Interior Designers and together they have two children. When he isn’t on a job site or in his office, Tom can be found coaching cross country and track, or hitting the trails competing in adventure races as one of the nation’s top orienteers.
