Stren has over 20 years of experience in both commercial real estate and investment management. He specializes in advising clients in the disposition, acquisition, and recapitalization of income-producing office, industrial and retail properties as well as those properties with redevelopment potential such as land or high-vacancy commercial properties. In addition, Stren managed multiple portfolios of real estate securities as well as direct equity and debt investments in commercial office, multifamily and industrial properties for institutions, trusts and private clients. Stren began his career in real estate as a securities analyst for Center Square Investment Management where he specialized in publicly traded real estate investment trusts in a $1BN portfolio on behalf of pensions and foundations. Following Center Square, Stren was an investment associate for Harvest Fund Advisors where he handled energy master limited partnerships, commonly known as the real estate of the energy industry. In 2008, Stren was called to serve his country through active duty as a Scout Platoon leader on the Multinational Force and Observers Mission 51 in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt. Upon his return to the USA, Stren launched Cobalt Ridge Capital, a private investment firm focusing on venture capital and real estate investments. In 2015, Stren joined the Seattle office of one of the nation’s largest commercial real estate brokerage companies where he became the office’s #1 agent in office & industrial investment sales for six out of his seven years and earned the title of Director in their Office & Industrial Properties Division. Stren’s education and experience in investment management, brokerage, and property ownership allow him to provide a perspective not regularly found in investment sales brokers. This background allows him to provide more thoughtful and creative solutions for his client’s endeavors. Stren is an avid supporter of the Seattle Aquarium and several academic institutions. He enjoys backcountry skiing, golf, and spending time with his family.
