He serves on the firm’s Industrial Leadership Council and Life Sciences Team, working collaboratively on a regional basis to provide corporate services to life science, high technology, and clean tech companies. Steve’s more than 25 years of commercial real estate experience and expertise in the leasing, sale and development of R&D and industrial properties in the East Bay have allowed him to successfully advise his clients on more than 1,000 transactions valued in excess of $3 billion. Steve was a founding partner of Newmark’s Hayward (now Oakland) office in 2007. Prior to that, he worked for more than 12 years as a broker and partner with NAI BT Commercial (now Cushman & Wakefield). Steve also worked for seven years as an industrial developer for Catellus Development Corporation and Santa Fe Pacific Realty Corporation, both located in San Francisco. Steve holds a dual office and industrial certification with the Society of Office and Industrial Realtors (SIOR). He is the former president of both the Northern California Chapter of SIOR and the East Bay Brokers Association (EBBA). He served as the 2018-2019 chair of the Technology Committee at SIOR. Steve was the top producer in his office in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 and named Costar Power Broker in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
