Sam Zalowitz

Sam Zalowitz's service legacy traces back to 1975, deeply entwined with Memphis and its surroundings. In 2002, he established Samuel J. Zalowitz, CCIM, following foundational training at Cross Country Realty and experience gained at BELZ ENTERPRISES. Within BELZ, he shouldered oversight for leasing a diverse portfolio spanning shopping centers, office buildings, warehouses, and ground-floor retail spaces at the PEABODY HOTEL. After 13 years at Belz, Sam embarked on a fresh journey, founding AMPCO (American Properties Company) in 1989. Under his leadership, AMPCO adroitly managed over 500,000 sq. ft. of premier class-A office space in both Downtown and Mid-Town Memphis. Notable endeavors encompassed the development of the ONE MEMPHIS PLACE downtown office complex and management of seven shopping centers for BENNETT YORK ENTERPRISES. An inflection point arrived when BARBEE & ASSOCIATES harnessed Sam's expertise to spearhead their Commercial Investment Brokerage Division, birthing the SOUTHWINDS SHOPPING CENTER in Germantown. Likewise, GRANT & CO recognized Sam's prowess, leading to his role in establishing their Commercial Investment Brokerage Division. Post a fruitful six-year tenure with Grant & Co, Sam realigned his focus to expand CRYE-LEIKE's Property Management division into the realm of Commercial Investment. A transformative moment occurred in 2006 with the inception of Zalowitz Commercial Realty, ushering in a new career chapter. Sam's influence persisted as he collaborated with Ryan Edwards and Dr. Bennett Rudorfer, co-founding EZR Management LLC, a property management venture. This collaboration marked a vibrant phase. In 2008, the trajectory shifted once more as national Real Estate Investment firm MARCUS & MILLICHAP invited Sam to spearhead the launch and oversight of their Memphis Office. In 2008, Sam strategically redirected his efforts to his enterprise and the Memphis Market. Here, he adeptly guided clients through diverse real estate undertakings—leasing, management, investment, and disposition—ultimately materializing his longstanding aspirations.
