Rick Fernandez joined SRS’ Washington D.C. office in 2020 as senior managing director of the National Net Lease Group. His expertise and experience encompass many areas of net lease real estate including urban retail, single and multi-tenant net lease, commercial land brokerage, real estate underwriting, lease evaluation and contract negotiations, and in assisting individual buyers and family trusts searching for replacement properties to complete 1031 exchanges. Prior to joining SRS, Rick was senior managing director of Calkain Companies where he also served as a member on the Executive Committee. As a top producer, he closed nearly $700 million in net lease transactions over a 14-year period representing merchant-build developers and private and institutional buyers and sellers. Rick brokered some of the most notable transactions in the D.C. Metro region setting records for cap rate and price-per-square-foot including the multi-building retail and office Dupont Circle Starbucks Building at Connecticut Avenue, a deal that delivered one of the highest dollar-per-square-foot retail property transactions in D.C. history.
