ABOUT

LAND is his specialty. Be it ranch, suburban or urban property.... Dick’s roots run deep in Texas. In 1922 his grandparents as a young couple with two children moved from Central Texas and established the Perry family farm 10 miles south of Robstown. Dick was born and raised in Corpus Christi, and spent many summer days working on the farm. After graduating SMU (BBA-Finance) Dick and his wife Michele moved from Dallas to Corpus Christi and bought their first home where they lived for fifteen years. In 1983 Dick and his family moved to the Perry Farm where they resided until March of 2020 when he and his wife sold their farm and moved back to the DFW area where they now reside. CAREER PROGRESSION: After graduating college Dick began working with his dad and brother farming, ranching and family grain business. He served as a Trustee and the Business Manager of the Perry Foundation (a private foundation established for the benefit of agricultural and oil and gas producers in Texas) established by his grandfather’s brother M. G. (Mit) Perry in 1946. As Dick’s family and work responsibilities grew, he developed his skills further and expanded into various areas of real estate. He has been active in property ownership, management and appraisal. Not only does he have extensive experience handling rural land property rights (both surface and mineral) but those rights pertaining to urban property as well. He has experience overseeing employers’ ownership interests in agricultural and commercial real estate properties such as farms, grain elevators, livestock feedyards, urban warehouses and office buildings. Dick’s skillset as a Commercial Real Estate Broker includes the experience and qualification to provide a Comparative Market Analyses (CMA) as a service on a fee basis. A CMA will provide a property’s hypothetical price based on current competitive market conditions, capitalization rates, and comparable sales. If, within one year, a CMA customer should decide to list the property for sale or lease on a commission basis with Dick, the CMA fee paid amount is credited to the Landlord/Seller at closing. Attorneys and their clients find his assistance extremely useful. From gathering pertinent information and title searches, to document review for transactions and estate planning, his skills translate into substantial savings in time and money to his employer and customer.
