Richard Hymel

As a Vice President of Select Properties, Ltd. Realty, Mr. Hymel is responsible for managing and leasing a portfolio of commercial properties valued in excess of $64,000,000. With 31+ years of real estate experience, he is skilled in brokerage, management, leasing and consultation. He is one of only a select few Louisiana professionals to have successfully earned both the prestigious Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designations. Earlier in his career he assisted in opening One Poydras Plaza (a 27-story Class “A” office building) in New Orleans, Louisiana, and developed its Operations and Procedures Manual. Since 1987 he has developed and has implemented management and marketing plans for office buildings, shopping centers, and apartments. He has successfully liquidated an entire REO portfolio, valued at $10 million, for an insurance company. Most recently, Mr. Hymel has been involved with the retail development of neighborhood shopping centers -- from land development and financial loans to working one-on-one with contractors during the construction phase to leasing space to tenants. Mr. Hymel is very active in the Louisiana Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), having served as its Secretary, Vice President and its President. He is past Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the VOA National Housing Corporation.
