Rich Butler

Rich began his career with Marcus & Millichap specializing in apartment properties and has assisted hundreds of individual clients in achieving their financial goals through hustle and hard work. In 1995, Rich became a Senior Sales Associate, was elected to Senior Investment Associate in 2001, and Vice President Investment Sales in 2007. In 2015, Rich was nominated and elected unanimously by Marcus & Millichap's Board of Directors to the Senior Vice President distinction, a title held by fewer than 5 percent of Marcus & Millichap agents. Rich has received the company's distinctive Sales Achievement Award 15 times, including a National Achievement Award in 2019 in recognition of outstanding performance in investment sales. Over the past 30 years, Rich has specialized in representing private capital clients, closing almost 300 transactions. Rich has vast experience representing investors in 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges by successfully utilizing the Marcus & Millichap network, as well as contacting sellers of off-market product. Through knowledge and determination, Rich has also successfully navigated the competitive landscape of exchange deadlines by brokering multifamily trades into 36 separate office, retail, self-storage, single tenant, and mobile home community transactions. Rich graduated from Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration; Rich also played four years of both varsity football and baseball.
