Born and raised in San Diego, Rex comes from a real estate family. His father, Gene Huffman, developed, leased, and sold most of the Downtown projects in the 1960 and 1970 era. His cousin, Ray L. Huffman, built most of the residential projects found in the Pacific Beach and surrounding areas. After completing his college degree in Accounting/Finance at San Diego State University, Rex immediately followed in his father’s footsteps in real estate and was hired by Merrill Lynch Commercial in 1983. He specialized in commercial/ industrial conversions, lot splitting sales, and leasing along the Interstate 5 Corridor. He moved on to Voit Real Estate Services to expand his opportunities in 1988, which turned out to be a fortuitous move. The office synergism is unbeatable and has helped Rex lease and sell well over 2,800 properties with a total value in excess of $500,000,000. Today, Rex specializes in the sale and leasing of value-added projects with vacancies, mixed uses, and creatively and effectively solving challenging situations. No one is more qualified to lease or sell any industrial product or land on the 1-5 Middletown Corridor (Sports Arena/Airport/Morena Boulevard/ Rose Canyon) and Barrio Logan.
