Reid J. Berch joined Avison Young’s Long Island office in 2016 as a Principal specializing in Industrial and Commercial Brokerage. A veteran with over 30 years of experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry, Berch’s specialty centers on client’s industrial and commercial real estate needs in Queens, Brooklyn and on Long Island, with a focus on major international airports and the air cargo, logistics, e-commerce and distribution community. Berch currently represents over 2.1 million square feet of warehouse, distribution, air cargo and office space in Queens and at JFK International Airport for several large institutional owners. Between June 2000 and year-to-date 2021, Berch’s team has successfully completed over 1,000 leases, purchases and sales in Queens, Brooklyn, on Long Island and at JFK International Airport. Throughout his career, Berch has represented numerous notable companies including Prologis, Bloomingdales, Blackstone, Terreno, UPS, DHL, AT&T, American Airlines, Delta, Mack Trucks, Coca Cola, Northrop Grumman, Sears Roebuck and Kraft Foods. Prior to joining Avison Young, Berch was an Executive Vice President at JLL and an Executive Director at Cushman & Wakefield, where he was consistently a top producer for over 14 consecutive years. Furthermore, he has been honored with numerous achievement awards. Some of Berch’s notable transactions include the sale of over 1.2 million square feet of the former Northrop Grumman complex in Bethpage and Hicksville, Long Island and the sale of Bloomingdales’ 640,000-square-foot distribution facility in Long Island City, Queens. Recently transacted was the lease and sale of approximately one million square feet of buildings on ±33 acres in Queens and in Brooklyn to UPS. Berch is a board member of Gateway JFK, also known as The Greater JFK Industrial Business Improvement District (IBID), along with an active member and supporter of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS) as well as the JFK Chamber of Commerce.
