Reem Akkad

Reem is the Creative Director and Principal of the residential, hospitality, and commercial design divisions at Reem Akkad Design. With over 13 years in the design industry, she is recognized for her creative and intentional luxury designs. Having lived in countries across the globe, Reem brings global inspiration and a unique perspective into all her projects resulting in distinctively thoughtful interiors rich with layering of textures and materials, color and light, and a punch of drama. Reem views design challenges as an opportunity for creative solutions, thus creating spaces that are memorable each with its own individuality to ultimately reflect the inspiration of the people, and the culture, she is working with. She draws on her commercial background to infuse her interiors with a touch of the unexpected, combining modern and timeless elements melding architecture and design to create an intentionally crafted environment that marries function, form, and aesthetics. Reem, LEED AP, NCIDQ, EDAC, received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Architecture from the Damascus University of Fine Arts and her Master of Arts Degree in Interior Design from Michigan State University.
