Peter VanBortel

Peter has been a member of IKON Realty Group since early 2010. Peter has focused his practice on both tenant representation and the sale and/or leasing of commercial real estate throughout the northeast. Peter has handled the leasing of all of RPAI’s (formerly, Inland Western) multi-tenanted properties in Upstate New York. Furthermore, in the last year, he has focused on the releasing and/or disposition of eight, high-profile former Friendly’s Restaurant sites located throughout New York State. During his time at IKON, Peter has also established relationships with the national offices of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, CBRE, and Jones Lang LaSalle, working on various property disposition assignments and tenant representation assignments for multiple, Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining IKON, Peter was an attorney with the international law firm of K&L Gates LLP where he served as a commercial litigator in the New York City area. While at K&L Gates, Peter was able to utilize his dual admission to both the New York and New Jersey Bars in order to gain invaluable experience working on complex litigation matters involving numerous Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies (many of these matters involved commercial real estate). In 2010, Peter chose to leave the law firm environment in order to pursue a more business-oriented career. This decision is what led Peter to IKON. To date, Peter still maintains his legal licenses and the unique background/perspective that he can provide to his real estate clients has proven invaluable throughout his affiliation with IKON.
