ABOUT

Michael Scheid joined HUNT Commercial in December 2022, bringing his enthusiasm for helping businesses navigate important transitions and his dedication to delivering tailored real estate solutions. Before finding his stride in real estate, Michael served as comptroller for the Buffalo Yacht Club from 2016 to 2022, where he developed a strong sense of operational strategy and financial management. Along the way, he also gained hands-on experience as a service writer at an auto dealership and honed his people skills through serving and bartending roles during college. Michael’s first foray into the business came at the age of 20, attempting to break into the residential real estate market during challenging conditions. With high inventory and tough-to-find buyers – not to mention being too young to take a client out for a drink – Michael ultimately stepped back to focus on his education. He returned to the industry in 2021, starting in residential real estate while juggling a full-time job. The turning point came when he sold a commercial property, which opened his eyes to the complexity and opportunities in commercial real estate. He was hooked, drawn to the depth of the transactions and the strategic thinking required. At HUNT Commercial, Michael values the company’s clear vision, emphasis on strategic growth, and collaborative culture. He was initially drawn to HUNT’s reputation as a leading regional brokerage but has come to appreciate how the leadership fosters both professionalism and individual growth. For Michael, working alongside talented colleagues in an environment that encourages innovation and teamwork makes all the difference. Michael is particularly passionate about working with small and mid-sized businesses. Whether helping a business owner preparing for retirement, an entrepreneur expanding operations, or a company restructuring for long-term success, he finds these transitions deeply rewarding. He excels at breaking down complex real estate concepts, helping clients understand the difference between investment and owner/user perspectives, and showing how commercial real estate fits into broader business strategies. It’s the opportunity to provide clarity and meaningful value to clients – many of whom are already financially savvy – that makes his work so fulfilling. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Niagara University and a Strategic Human Resource Leadership certificate from eCornell. He’s no stranger to recognition, having been named Employee of the Year at the Buffalo Yacht Club in 2017 and earning the HUNT Real Estate Rising Star Award in 2022. Outside the office, Michael brings his competitive spirit to the water, spending summers racing sailboats with the Buffalo Harbor Sailing Club’s J105 fleet. His passion for sailing has also led him to leadership, as he was elected to the club’s Board of Directors and will serve as Treasurer in 2025. Michael is excited to be part of HUNT Commercial, where he combines his passion for strategic problem-solving with a hands-on approach to helping businesses achieve their goals through commercial real estate.
