Michael Rareshide

Michael Rareshide is a Partner at Site Selection Group and leads the firm’s Data Center Practice. With over 30 years of experience, Michael specializes in data center and colocation negotiations, hyperscale and wholesale colocation, mission-critical real estate, and national portfolio accounts. He has worked on hundreds of data center and colocation projects across 300 North American markets, bringing a deep expertise that benefits his clients. Before joining Site Selection Group in 2015, Michael built a distinguished career in corporate real estate, including nearly 21 years with a national corporate real estate advisory firm as a top senior executive. In that role, he was instrumental in driving the firm’s annual double-digit growth. His background also includes experience in corporate finance and underwriting at Paragon Group and Barclays Bank. Michael began his career at Ernst & Young and is a CPA with a BBA in Accounting from SMU. Michael’s breadth of expertise in the mission-critical and data center real estate sector began in 1996, and he has since underwritten and completed more than 500 projects, including data centers, colocation sites, greenfield build-to-suits, and other technical spaces. He has worked with a who’s who of the industry, including CoreWeave, TierPoint, Windstream, Data Canopy, Continent8, USIO, and several hyperscale developers. Michael holds a BBA in Accounting from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Outside of work, he enjoys international travel, wine, working out, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with his wife and three sons.
