Michael’s experience in development and operations in multiple industries have served him well in commercial real estate — solving the problems his clients face with pragmatism and an expert POV. Past clients include Nassau County, the Village of Greenport, New York Power Authority, National Grid, Public Service Gas & Electric, Lightyear Capital, Calpine, Olin Corp, Conoco/Phillips, Hitachi, Wood Group, and York International. Michael has over 30 years of experience in project development and management. Prior to joining Vicus, he led International Woodfuels for 8 years as its COO and CTO until the venture was sold to a private equity group. Before that he served as the EVP for Terramax a high-end developer of multifamily and single-family housing in NYC and Westchester. He also was the principal of a management consulting business which, amongst other things, did the ground up development of KIAC (the Kennedy International Airport Cogeneration) Project and the purchase and repositioning of the Ripon Cogeneration portfolio. In both cases the sale of each of these assets resulted in exceptionally accretive exits for ownership. Though he has worked all over the world, NYC is his passion, personally and professionally. He was born here and is raising a family here. He’s involved with community organizations and select boards including Riverside Park Fund, Rodeph Sholom Synagogue, Row New York, West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, 420 Riverside Owners Corp, and his local neighborhood soup kitchen.
