Mr. Clinton began his career with IBM Corporation while still a student completing his undergraduate studies. After receiving his BA from Duke University, Mr. Clinton was hired at the age of 22 to run a multi-million dollar tutoring department for The Princeton Review. He was responsible for a $20M P&L and growing his territories in DC, MD, VA and managing over 45 teachers and tutors. He began his career in corporate finance in 1999 for a fortune 1000 technology firm headquartered in Ft. Lauderdale, FL called Spherion Technologies. He began as a Jr. Analyst, taught himself corporate finance and inevitably became to Sr. Financial Analyst, running corporate reports for the entire billion dollar corporation. He was promoted to Account Executive, Managing over 40 technology consultants and deepening relationships with his clients AARP and XM Satellite Radio. He switched into commercial real estate finance after receiving his MBA from Vanderbilt University in 2007 and founding Gauntlet Commercial Real Estate Capital in 2008. Gauntlet in investment banking firm focused on providing bridge loans to distressed borrowers and in complex financial circumstances. The success of Gauntlet Commercial led to the creation of Gauntlet Private Investments where the breadth of real estate services provided was expanded to provide direct investment, equity structuring, small business capital loans, and to move outside of commercial real estate exclusively. As Founder and Managing Director of Gauntlet Pi, he oversees all financing requests and has created a reputation for structuring some of the most complicated and creative transactions in the United States. The firm has acquired an interest in 180 MF units and 6 retail strip centers throughout the United States and structured nearly $400M in real estate and private equity transaction since its inception. Michael routinely hosts and speaks in seminars on real estate finance and periodically speaks as a guest of the Owen School of Management in Nashville, TN. He has successfully underwritten and consulted on hundreds of multi-million dollar transactions. His expertise is in structured finance, business plan analysis, private equity and CRE risk assessment. He is licensed CA real estate broker and a CCIM member candidate, currently studying for the Series 7 Exam. He sits on the board for the YMCA at Weingart, Los Angeles, CA. He is on the board for the University of West Los Angeles, School of Graduate Studies as well as on the board for the HNOJ School located in Los Angeles, CA. He is married to Tiffany Clinton, who is currently an attorney for the University of West Los Angeles and a licensed boxing time keeper in the State of California. They currently reside in Los Angeles, CA and recently welcomed their first child.
