Michael Barron

Michael Barron is a senior managing director of Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap. Mr. Barron, and his business partners, Daniel Burkons and Joshua Wintermute, oversee IPA’s Midwest Multifamily operations. Mr. Barron is one of three original founders of Marcus & Millichap’s Cleveland Office. His leadership and specialization within the Midwest apartment market enables him to create substantial value for major private and institutional investors. Mr. Barron joined the firm in 2003 and he and his team, Barron | Burkons | Wintermute, have sold over 50,000 units across 14 states totaling over $2.55 Billion. Mr. Barron also specializes - and has expertise in - assessing value and leading national marketing campaigns selling apartment portfolios ranging from two to as many as 25 properties in multiple states, owned by multiple partnerships. Mr. Barron utilizes the tremendous capabilities of the firm, in conjunction with his own established investor relationships, to create a comprehensive market for the multifamily properties he represents. Barron | Burkons | Wintermute is made up of eleven fully dedicated members committed to real time underwriting and a state-of-the-art marketing platform. In 2009, Mr. Barron received Crain’s Cleveland Business Twenty in their 20's award and in 2012, he was inducted into the Midwest Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame. Mr. Barron is regularly featured in publications such as Apartment Finance Today, Globe St, Heartland Real Estate Business, Midwest Real Estate News, Multifamily Executive, Multi-Housing News, Real Estate Alert, The Cleveland Jewish News, and The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Barron holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology, with a minor in Business from The Ohio State University and holds the CCIM designation. Mr. Barron is on the board of the Community Housing division of The Jewish Federation of Cleveland.
