Born and raised in Manhattan, Matthew Lesser joined Leslie J. Garfield & Co. in 2005. In 2014, Matthew was named Senior Partner of the firm. Matthew Lesser is a founding member of the Lesser Kantha Team, where he and his partner Ravi Kantha have led the team to be the premiere townhouse team within Leslie J. Garfield & Co. that covers Manhattan and Brooklyn. Notable mentions for the Lesser Kantha Team include being ranked #6 in New York and #32 nationwide in transaction volume (REAL Trends 2021 rankings as seen in the Wall Street Journal) and noted as one of New York's Top 15 Real Estate Agents in The Hollywood Reporter. Matthew has represented over $2 billion in residential, commercial, and institutional real estate, and has been responsible for the sale and leasing of over 175 properties. He has been consistently ranked a “Top 100 Residential Agent” by The Real Deal Magazine. Matt is frequently noted in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, NY Post, The Real Deal Daily News, NY Observer and Real Estate Weekly. Matthew was a graduate of Trevor Day School in Manhattan and later earned a BS degree from Skidmore College with a Business Management major and an Economics minor. While at Skidmore, Matt played four years of Division III basketball. He remains active in the community as a member of both Friends of Skidmore Athletics and Friends of The President. Matthew is also a member of Sunningdale Country Club, Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), and Young Mens & Womens Real Estate Association (YMWREA). He currently resides in Scarsdale, New York with his wife Erin and their two children Riley and Jillian.
