Matt Sturcken

Matt Sturcken serves as the Senior Acquisitions Manager at Sand Capital. Over ten years ago, he began his career at the company as an acquisitions intern. Having worked his way up through various roles, he now focuses on several components of the deal process, including the sourcing, analysis, valuation, transaction, and eventual disposition of commercial assets. While Matt was a member of the team in 2017, the company purchased a large portfolio of CVS Pharmacy properties. He was instrumental in the disposition of the stores and concentrated primarily on the sale and negotiation process. He also helped create a process to market these investments to a larger audience. Through his efforts, the team sold over 47 CVS Pharmacy locations. Prior to that, Matt was involved in Sand Capital’s Alpha Opportunity Fund, which focused on the repositioning of value-add shopping centers nationwide. Approximately 40 assets were purchased in that fund. His responsibilities included the sourcing, underwriting, and acquisition of these properties. Matt graduated from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He’s proud to call Phoenix his home and enjoys spending time with his family.
