Mark Schroeder

Over 30 years ago, Mark began his real estate career. After graduating from WSU, Mark joined his father’s real estate company, Schroeder Realty. Mark obtained his broker’s license and later started his own company, Mark Schroeder & Associates Auctioneers. Mark rejoined Schroeder Realty where he remained until 1987, when he was elected to the Sedgwick County Commission and served the fifth district for three terms. Mark chose not seek a fourth term, and instead, he went to work for the City of Derby as their first Economic Development Director. He was later promoted to Derby City Manager in 2001 and served in that capacity until 2005. Mark then joined Value Place Hotels and developed hotels in the south and Midwest. In 2008, Mark was hired by Terracon Consultants to lead the Wichita office’s business development efforts. Mark joined J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc. Commercial Division in 2015, and was recognized by the Realtors of South Central Kansas in 2017 for his number of transactions. Mark is married to Sharon, has three children, and resides in Derby, KS. All three of Mark’s children graduated from Derby Schools and went on to graduate from Wichita State University. Mark and Sharon also enjoy spending time with their two grandchildren.
