Louis is responsible for the firm's everyday activities as well as strategy for its long-term corporate development. During his real estate career, which began in 2004 at Douglas Elliman, Louis has earned a reputation as being among the top commercial brokers in New York City for Douglas Elliman, overseeing the sale, lease, or repositioning of a variety of property types. Louis has worked with leading owners and landlords, real estate developers, investment firms, pension funds, and some of the word's most prominent families. Louis has been recognized for significant sale transactions, including 145 East 57th Street (the Hammacher Schlemmer office building); 85-87 Mercer Street (SoHo retail coop); 85 Leonard Street (national landmark building condo conversion); Greenpoint Lofts (68-unit commercial condominium building); and 540 West 48th Street (land sale with 99 year lease in place). Notable leasing assignments Louis has led range from downtown to midtown office buildings representing tenants such as Conde Nast (media), Ladenburg Thalmann (banking); Sid Lee (advertising); Contemporary Conservation (art conservation); and the American Lung Association in New York (non-profit). Prior to joining Douglas Elliman, Louis studied communications at New York University, worked in studio film production, and then handled business development for technology and advertising companies during the Internet boom of the late 1990s and early 2000s. He is a licensed real estate broker in New York State and a member of the Real Estate Board of New York.
