ABOUT

Mr. Labbe joined Pyramid Real Estate Group in 2024 upon licensure as a broker becoming an Associate Broker with the firm. He has 30 years of professional real estate experience with a diversified background. He works as a principal and an intermediary with considerable experience in both facets of the business. As a principal, he is the key person driving the projects forward and managing a broad range of project requirements including: acquisitions, structure finance, development, leasing and optimizing financial performance. As an intermediary, he works as a professional service provider with focus in real estate brokerage and secondary focus on finance. He has niche expertise in lifestyle center development and transportation oriented development. Mr. Labbe is a graduate of the University of Connecticut school of Business with a degree in Real Estate and Urban Economics. Mr. Labbe brings unique retail experience to this project having worked for one of the largest retail REIT’s in the United States, Excel Realty Trust. Excel Realty Trust circa 2000 was a $1.7-billion shopping center REIT. The company pursued development projects via a C-Corp affiliate known as Excel Legacy Corporation. The core business of the REIT was acquisitions and optimization of existing shopping centers. Excel Legacy provided a sister capability to engage in lifestyle center development projects in partnership with WAM Development Group of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The partnership developed their first lifestyle center in Orlando, Florida next to the Orange County Convention Center, a 225,000 square foot two-story lifestyle center anchored by a Muvico theater and of the largest FAO Schwartz stores in the country. The second generation of these lifestyle center project was to be in Scottsdale, Arizona, a 2,300,000 square foot project anchored by 1,000,000 square feet of museums including a Smithsonian Museum affiliate. Uses with the project were to include: retail, dining, entertainment, a Venice Italy like canal system, a movie theater, live theater, hotels, attractions, residences, themed hardscape and more. The third generation of these projects was built across the street from Disneyland, Anaheim Gardenwalk, a 650,000 square foot project with plans for five hotel towers totaling 1,800 hotel rooms (1,200,000 square feet) for a total of 1,850,000 square feet. Mr. Labbe has continued to work on retail and lifestyle center projects since working with this partnership, an on-going pursuit with partnership opportunities open with both companies. Excel Realty Trust is now known as Shopcore (www.shopcore.com) and WAM Development is now known as One Properties (www.oneproperties.com)
