He has also completed a wide range of strategic planning and transaction assignments with a focus on creative deal-making focused on benchmark and metric creation and measurement. In both 2015 and 2016, he was named one of the top 20 industrial brokers in the country by Cushman & Wakefield, a designation given annually to the top three percent of Cushman & Wakefield brokers based on production. In spring 2018, Kemp earned the “Culture of Oneness” award, an accolade for his selfless service to Cushman & Wakefield’s industrial platform. Kemp is the only broker to have won this prestigious award twice. Prior to joining the firm he was the Memphis City Leader for Trammell Crow Co. Kemp’s unique position brings the tenant and landlord perspective to the table for his clients. As a collaborator internally, Kemp serves on the Cushman & Wakefield Industrial & Supply Chain Executive Committee. He also holds a SIOR, dual designation for both office and industrial, which only 152, or 5%, of SIOR designees hold out of over 3,100. Kemp was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, and earned his MBA from the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt University. His BA is from Rhodes. Kemp served on the Memphis City Council for eleven years, representing half of the city – approximately 350,000 people. He was elected unanimously by his peers as Vice Chairman of the body in 2015, and as Chairman in 2016 and 2019. He is also a past member of the Board of Trustees of the National Civil Rights Museum.
