Originally from Abilene, Karen Mitchell attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and graduated in 1986 with a BA in Advertising and a minor in Marketing. After graduation she began her career in sales and marketing. She spent the next 20 years in sales and sales management in both telecommunications and billing software. Throughout her career she learned to listen to her clients and gain a clear understanding of their business needs to create solutions that resolved their issues with and improved their business processes. In 2005, Karen left the corporate world and started her own consulting business which allowed her the opportunity to continue working with clients while at the same time allowed her to spend less time traveling and more time at home with her family. She continued with her consulting work for 10 years, working for clients to find alternate billing solutions, improve business processes and launch new business endeavors. It was during this time that she became interested in learning more about real estate, both through her personal residential experiences as well as her property location efforts for companies and clients she worked with, which eventually led her to get her real estate license. Karen and her husband Jeff moved to Weatherford with their 3 children in August of 2007. They are active members of Couts United Methodist Church, their daughter is a Blue Belle at Weatherford High School and their son is in band and production in a local middle school. Karen was voted Rookie of the Year in 2016 by members of the Greater West Association of Realtors. She currently serves on the Education and Governmental Affairs committees and as Director on the Greater Metro West Association’s Board of Directors.
