John Toben joined SRS Real Estate Partners in 2023 as Vice President for the National Net Lease Group in the Phoenix, AZ office. With over a decade of real estate experience, John specializes in the sale and acquisition of single and multi-tenant net lease investment properties nationwide. His experience spans across retail property types including drive thru’s, restaurants, banks, drug stores, fitness, medical, education, automotive, dollar stores, dispensaries, big boxes, strip centers, and in-line spaces. John is able to maximize yields for his clients and expand their commercial portfolios utilizing his background transacting 1031 Exchanges, Section 170 Bargain Sales, and Sale Leaseback transactions. John began his real estate career practicing commercial architecture, where he designed freestanding retail and restaurant space within shopping centers as well as international airport terminals. John’s architecture background provides him with a deep knowledge of development and construction, allowing him to better educate his clients on investment properties, pipelines, and portfolios. John is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where he played football and studied architecture for his undergraduate degree. He completed Postgraduate Studies in Interior Design at Baylor University, where he received Dean’s academic honors prior to moving to Phoenix. John is a member of the Urban Land Institute, NAIOP Arizona and ICSC. He is in the process of earning his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation. His extreme level of commitment, discipline, and persistence from his athletic career, combined with his passion for “endless creativity” architecture provide him with the ability to design unique solutions to overcome hurdles and achieve his client’s goals in all stages of a transaction.
