Lake Toxaway native John L. Nichols, III founded The Nichols Company, Inc. in 1999. With over thirty years of experience in real estate, John remains a vital force in the revitalization of all Charlotte Center City communities, as well as the renovation of historic buildings in Brevard, NC, and Lake Toxaway, NC. Under John’s leadership, The Nichols Company has received the distinction of Top Independent Brokerage Award for a Large Firm and Top Producer Land – 1st Place by the CRCBR. The Nichols Company has also been recognized as one of Charlotte’s Best Places to Work. In the past, John served as president of Plaza Central Development Group and as a member of the board of the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors (CRCBR), Johnston YMCA, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. He is a founding member of The Historic Toxaway Foundation, currently serves as a member of the Independence Citizens Advisory Committee for the Charlotte Department of Transportation, is a board member for Heart of Brevard, and was a past recipient of the Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 award. John’s wife, Mish Nichols, is a broker in Lake Toxaway, NC, where they reside with their two daughters and son.
