Joel Kelty

Joel recently joined Karchem Properties as a Project Manager. Over the past seven years, Joel has managed the design and construction of class A office buildings and multi-family housing in Metropolitan Washington, DC. For the National Property Board of Sweden, Joel is coordinating the design of the House of Sweden on the Georgetown Waterfront. The new embassy, designed by Wingardh Arkitektkontor AB/NOD, will be 70,000 SF. PRIOR EMPLOYMENT SmithGroup, Project Architect, Washington, DC – 1999 to 2003 Joel contributed to the schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration for Two Freedom Square, a $41 million, 16-story office tower in Reston Town Center, VA. He contributed to the schematic design, design development, and construction documentation for Carroll Square, a $25 million, 10-story office building with a historic preservation component and a 4-level, underground parking garage. Joel led efforts to promote office sustainability practices. Environmental Design Group, Architect, Bethesda, MD – 1997 to 1999 Joel worked on the schematic design, design development, construction documents, property condition surveys, field measurement, and construction administration for affordable housing, elderly housing, institutional, and co-housing projects. Little + Architects, Architect, Silver Spring, MD - 1997 Joel prepared building surveys, CAD documents, and 3-D computer models of residential and commercial projects.
