Joanna Shawver

Joanna founded Shawver Group, LLC to incorporate her expertise, decades of successful track record and real estate philosophy into the her own commercial real estate firm. Shawver Group specializes in tenant representation, landlord representation, investment sales and real estate consulting in the Midwest. She was Vice President of Leasing for RED Development and Senior Vice President of Leasing for RED Legacy (Legacy Development). Prior to joining the RED family of companies, she worked for Copaken White & Blitt and Kessinger Hunter in Kansas City. Three major redevelopments in the Kansas City area – Wyandotte Plaza, Truman’s Marketplace and Liberty Commons – are the result of Joanna’s leasing leadership and team collaboration. New market openings and the Midwest expansion of McAlister’s Deli and Woof's Play and Stay best illustrate her strength in tenant representation. Throughout her career, Joanna has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, recognized as a Certified Retail Real Estate Professional (CRRP). She is an active member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and received the 2017 Excellence Award from CREW KC. Joanna is an original member of WIRED. a mentoring group for women in real estate development. She is a licensed broker in Missouri and Kansas. She has an excellent understanding of the real estate business and finds creative ways to make the partnerships work for everyone.
