Jim Becker has been a commercial real estate agent for 20+ years. He brought his enthusiasm for retail real estate to Goodman in 2011. Success in retail is due, in part, to optimal store placement. Jim is proud to have been integral in the site selection of many retailers. A background in advertising taught Jim the importance of communication and relationships. Both are key in building relationships between retailers and their customers as well as retailers and their brokers. Jim’s client representation experience is broad and diverse. His current roster of clients includes Carter’s, Maurices, Party City, Pet Supplies Plus, Rally House, Shoe Sensation and Sweet Kiddles (Kids & Company). One unique aspect of Jim’s experience is his familiarity with the smaller cities across Ohio’s 88 counties. Accounts like Rue 21 and Shoe Sensation broadened his geographic coverage. He has also represented tenants from 2,000 SF to 90,000 SF, the latter including Main Event and Old Time Pottery. Complementing tenant representation, Jim has been a landlord representative throughout his career. The assignments range from small local centers to 400,000 SF community centers. Active listings in northern OH have included the leasing of small in-line spaces, anchor spaces, and out parcels. His most recent redevelopment involvement converted a former Kmart into the new home for Burlington, T.J. Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, and Sephora. Current listings include 100K of in-line space and several community centers that will soon be on the market. Perseverance, patience, creativity, and a team spirit are basic tenets to Jim’s approach to deal making. These are the things his long term clients have come to appreciate and on which they rely.
