Jed Backus
Jed Backus embarked on his real estate career in 2002, joining the company's team of commercial agents. Throughout his tenure, Jed has been involved in leasing, sales, and consulting for both local businesses and large national corporations and institutions. To expand the company's presence, Jed incorporated a residential sales division when two development projects included over one hundred residential units. Presently, he continues to assist companies and institutions in meeting their commercial real estate needs while overseeing the activities of BRE's residential services division. Before joining Backus Real Estate, Jed worked in the marketing department of Vail Associates, Inc., where he managed a team focused on market research. Jed actively assumes a leadership role within the real estate industry. He currently holds the position of President at the New Haven/Middlesex Association of Realtors. Additionally, he has previously served as Chair of the NHMR Commercial & Industrial Division, Director at the CT Association of Realtors, and presently sits on the National Association of Realtors Commercial Federal Policy Committee. During his leisure time, Jed finds enjoyment in activities such as hiking, skiing, tennis, reading, traveling, and sharing home-cooked food and wine with friends.
