Jamie Flaherty-Evans

Passionate about Oakland and its current retail renaissance – it’s an exciting time to be part of the change that is happening, helping to weave the eclectic vibe that entwines neighborhoods, arts, food and shopping. Jamie's retail brokerage practice is primarily focused in Oakland, which means she is able to bring a detailed, street-by-street expertise about Oakland retail real estate to her clients--who include developers of mixed retail/residential projects, philanthropic institutions, individual property owners, and retail tenants looking to start or expand in Oakland. Restaurants and bar users, including wineries and taprooms, are the majority of Jamie's clients, as well as café, fitness and boutique retailers. Jamie also works with developers in the early stages of project planning to help them define their retail needs from a leasing standpoint. Jamie's brokerage career grew out of her earlier work in retail store management, and as a broker she often drew upon those experiences. Among other retailers, Jamie worked for local art supply retailer Amsterdam Art (Berkeley, Oakland, San Francisco and Walnut Creek) and internationally-renowned The Body Shop (San Francisco and the Peninsula). Jamie loves seeking out new, and local / independent restaurateurs and retailers to bring their visions to life and to keep Oakland at the forefront for the hottest trends. In Oakland obstacles inevitably arise, and her strength is to bring both a systematic and creative productivity to moving through challenges. Jamie strive to make each transaction one that works for both the owner and the tenant, as theirs is a relationship that will last beyond their initial interactions with me and their success and connection is most important. Jamie likes to work diligently and effectively--being organized and a problem solver with relentless follow-through define her work ethos. When not fantasizing about retail place-making, Jamie lends her support to worthwhile organizations in Oakland, including serving on the boards of Children’s Fairyland and the Downtown Business Improvement District. Jamie is also an active member of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce, East Bay CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) and ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers.) Born in Illinois, and currently resides in Piedmont with her husband and two sons. Avid fan of both the Warriors and Oakland A’s.
