ABOUT

James M. Schrader is the owner of Schrader Commercial Properties, LLC, a full-service commercial real estate firm specializing in commercial real estate sales, leasing, property management, tenant representation and court-appointed receiverships in the central Kentucky market. Due to the complexity and nature of the transactions in which the firm is involved, Schrader interacts regularly with bankers, attorneys, engineers, government officials and all professions involved in the sale, leasing and development of commercial properties. Schrader also owns and operates a related company, Schrader Auction Group, which auctions primarily commercial real estate. Schrader is a former director of Nally & Haydon Holdings, LLC, a family-owned business in Bardstown, Kentucky involved in paving, aggregates and heavy construction. Prior to Schrader’s full-time involvement in commercial real estate, he worked over 10 years in the banking industry concentrating in commercial real estate lending in Louisville and Lexington. In 2000, Schrader served as managing partner of a consulting firm advising a group of investors in all facets of obtaining a charter and starting a state-regulated bank in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky now known as Century Bank. With Schrader’s assistance, the investors raised over $5.2 million in capital and opened Century Bank in July 2000. Schrader is the President elect and a long-time board member of the Commercial Property Association of Lexington, an association of real estate investors and professionals who meet regularly to discuss real estate markets, new properties under development, economic factors affecting Lexington and general conditions of the Lexington commercial real estate market. In 2014, Schrader served as an expert witness on behalf of the Fayette County Property Valuation Administrator in a high-profile case before the Kentucky Board of Tax Appeals against Walgreen’s Inc. The case, in which the PVA prevailed, had broad implications in Kentucky for all commercial real estate tax valuation subject to net lease investments. He has also been a guest lecturer for the International Facilities Management Association, Lexington Chapter, on commercial real estate leasing. In addition to his professional activities, Schrader is a long time member and former Treasurer, of Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church. Schrader is also a long time member of the Lexington Rotary Club where he serves as the Chairman of the Rotary Scholarship Committee and was recently elected to serve a second term as a board member.
