ABOUT

Hugh is Senior Managing Director, Retail Division at Marcus & Millichap. With over 20 years of commercial real estate experience, he has always specialized in the acquisition and disposition of retail properties and has completed more than 500 transactions totalling over $4 billion in value across 120 markets in Canada. Hugh’s primary focus is providing strategic leadership for the Canadian Retail Division while providing best in class service to capital market clients nationally which range from the public to private, institutional to developer, local to provincial. Prior to founding the National Retail Group (now Marcus & Millichap) he was Executive Vice President, Capital Markets, Retail with JLL, and Senior Vice President, Retail Investments with CBRE. As a strategic partner in disposition and acquisition services, Hugh takes the time to understand a client’s transaction goals, as well as the qualities that make a property or portfolio attractive, marketable asset. This personal method leads to a tailored process, effectively capturing an opportunity’s unique value and positioning. Hugh graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec with an honours degree in economics. He is licensed under the Real Estate Council of Ontario, is a member of the Toronto Real Estate Board and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centres. When not focused on his team and clients, Hugh enjoys an active lifestyle with his two young children, and a poodle named Duke.
