Carolina native H.P. “Smitty” Smith, CCIM, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina in 1975. Active in commercial investment real estate since 1982, Smith joined Gibson Smith Realty Company in 1993. He became a partner in the company in 1997 and currently serves as President and Broker-in-Charge. From his base in Charlotte, Smith has closed investment sales transactions in over 155 markets in 19 states. During his career with Gibson Smith Realty Company, Smith has brokered more than $400 million in investment sales transactions involving single-tenant retail, shopping centers, office properties, multi-family communities, single-family subdivisions and land.
