ABOUT

Background & Experience: Prior to joining NAI Earle Furman, Hal served six years with the Orangeburg County Development Commission as its Executive Director and three years with the South Carolina Department of Commerce as a Hal brings a wealth of experience to NAI Earle Furman, having previously served six years as Executive Director of the Orangeburg County Development Commission and three years as a Project Manager with the South Carolina Department of Commerce before becoming President and CEO of the Upstate SC Alliance in 2005, a role he held for nearly nine years and during which he was named the 2013 Economic Developer of the Year by the South Carolina Economic Development Association. Currently, he serves as Chairman of the Southern Economic Development Council and as Chief Development Officer at NAI Earle Furman, where he collaborates with the leadership team to strategically direct business development plans and implement processes that foster client growth and success. Hal also leads READY, a full-service site location and economic/community development consulting firm, leveraging his 18 years of experience to provide practical solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of communities and companies seeking the right site for their projects. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from The Citadel and completed the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. His professional development includes certifications and memberships with various organizations, and he has received numerous accolades, including the 2003 Economic Developer of the Year from the National Rural Economic Developers Association and the 2013 Economic Developer of the Year from the South Carolina Economic Development Association.
