Gary M. Bettencourt received his BA Degree from California State University—Hayward in 1981. He acquired his California real estate salesperson’s license in 1982. In 1983, Gary was hired by Ashwell Schneider in San Jose, California, where he completed their extensive one-year training program. In 1984, Gary moved to Walnut Creek, and was hired by Norris, Beggs & Simpson in Lafayette, California. He completed their one-year training program and in 1985, he began working as a sales associate. In 1988, the firm relocated to Oakland, California, and Gary was made Senior Marketing Consultant, due to his accomplishment of East Bay Region Top Producer of the year. He ranked in the top five from 1988 through 1991. Gary joined LCB Associates in 1991. Since 1984, Gary has specialized in Alameda County commercial property sale and lease transactions, with major emphasis on the City of Oakland. He has assembled a complete data base of developers, investors, property owners, and office and retail tenants including their lease expiration dates. Gary’s years of experience provides a broad knowledge of the Bay Area commercial real estate market. Gary has a good business association with several of the corporate real estate personnel or principals of local, regional, and national firms. He has also worked extensively with small businesses, governmental agencies, building owners, and developers in Alameda County. Gary has strong selling skills, and has been involved in an extensive number of sale and lease transactions throughout his career. He obtains a great deal of his clients through referrals and repeat business. Gary has sold over 55 properties in Oakland, which includes 15 mid-rise office buildings located in the Central Business District.
