Mr. Steinberg began his career in the fashion industry as the owner of 525 America, a knitwear and home furnishings company. The brand is sold in the best department and specialty stores in the country. Mr. Steinberg then transitioned into the real estate industry in 2006 by joining GVA Williams. From there, he moved on to Sierra Real Estate, and became a principal at Lee & Associates in 2011 when the firm was organized as a sister company to Sierra. Best known for pioneering new neighborhoods, Mr. Steinberg brings retailers and institutions alike to areas they might not have considered. Working with RedSky Capital, Mr. Steinberg helped fill the whole block of Bedford between N 3rd and N 4th street in Williamsburg with retailers including Apple, Sephora, Alo Yoga, Flywheel, by Chloe, and Sweetgreen. The institutions Mr. Steinberg works with include Pace University – for which he leased 45,000 SF at 140 Williams on the corner of Fulton – and the Church Street School in Tribeca. He also helped create the NoMad section of Manhattan by selling 202 5th Avenue (the Commodore Criterion Building) to Porcelanosa, which started the development on that block, which now includes Eataly.
