ABOUT

Eric Vu is an investment professional specializing in the advisory of retail investment properties ranging from single tenant net leased investments to regional shopping malls. With more than 14 years of investment and real estate finance experience, Mr. Vu offers valuable perspective in asset valuation, market activity, capital sourcing, and investment opportunities. Known for his entrepreneurial approach backed by sound financial modeling and asset valuation, his skills provide high level advisory for the sale and acquisition of retail investments. Prior to launching Anchor Point Capital, Mr. Vu was Managing Partner and co-founder of Sperry NNN Investments, leading the company’s 60+ offices and over 250 associates in retail acquisitions and dispositions of retail assets for private investment funds, quasi REITs, and clients. He was an investment advisor at Hanley Investment Group before coming to Sperry where his transactions include record prices for drive-thru fast food restaurants, fitness gyms, coffee shops, sit-down restaurants, anchored shopping centers, community centers, and retail multi-tenant properties. His relationships with developers, national tenants, institutional groups, and private equity funds provide valuable investment opportunities for investors at Anchor Point Capital. His first assignment in Commercial Retail Brokerage was at Faris Lee Investments, where he was a Director and managed a team of financial analysts, researchers, and marketing personnel. While at Faris Lee Investments, Mr. Vu developed the company’s Special Servicer Client Project during the great recession in 2008; implementing new procedures and strategies for BOVs for Lenders, Special Servicers, Receivership Managers, and other special asset servicing firms. Mr. Vu began his career in Commercial Real Estate Banking and was a Commercial Mortgage Origination Analyst at Wells Fargo Bank’s Commercial Mortgage Group, originating and underwriting CMBS loans through the Southern California Commercial Banking office for institutional funds with loan requirements above $25M up to $1B. He was involved in the origination of over $1 Billion in CMBS debt during his tenure with the bank and eventually single handedly originated and closed multiple loans – a record for a first year associate at Wells Fargo Bank. Mr. Vu graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Business and Management. Mr. Vu is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and a candidate for Argus DCF Valuation Certification. Mr. Vu is involved in multiple charities including the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Habitat for Humanity, Obria Group, and Crystal Cove’s Marine Conservation Project near his residence in Southern California. Mr. Vu also served on the City Council appointed Housing & Public Service Grant committee in his community to help appropriate funds for assisting the elderly, poor, and abused. He received a US Congressional recognition award for his volunteerism. Mr. Vu is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys sailing, volleyball, and spearfishing.
