Mr. Siedenburg began his real estate career in 1976. In March of 1985, Mr. Siedenburg was hired by William C. Knapp, assuming the Vice President, General Manager position of Iowa Realty Commercial Brokers, a commercial brokerage operation with 12 full time commercial brokers. He was promoted to President of Iowa Realty's commercial division in 1990 and served in that capacity until 1994. From 1985 - 1994 the company grew to be the State of Iowa's largest commercial brokerage operation, expanding to 33 brokers and over $100,000,000 annually in business. Having the management responsibility for 33 brokers, he was exposed to a great variety of commercial real estate transactions, providing a broad background of experience. In 1985, Central Life Assurance Company bought the parent company of Iowa Realty Commercial and in 1989-90, Central Life called upon Iowa Realty's commercial division to develop a real estate workout unit for Central Life Assurance Company's distressed real estate portfolio. This event created valuation, marketing, and leasing decisions and opportunities in various locations around the United States. Mr. Siedenburg supervised the start up and operation of this unit and coordinated the workflow between the portfolio management unit and the commercial brokerage operation. During the nine years Mr. Siedenburg led Iowa Realty's Commercial Division, he was involved in handling, managing, and trouble-shooting hundreds of transactions. In 1994, Mr. Siedenburg became a principal in the newly formed Centera Realty Corporation, an affiliate of Central Life Assurance Company. In 1995, Mr. Siedenburg was hired by Marvin Pomerantz of The Mid-America Group, West Des Moines, Iowa as Executive Vice President. Mr. Siedenburg's responsibilities included generation of new real estate business development, acquisition and disposition negotiation, and marketing. In addition to his work with The Mid-America Group, Mr. Siedenburg also provided real estate consulting expertise to Gaylord Container Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, on a nationwide basis. In March 1998, Mr. Siedenburg founded The Siedenburg Group. The firm offers a range of real estate services including consulting expertise to Corporations and Municipalities, strategic planning, site selection counsel, investment counsel, and brokerage services. Acting as a corporate real estate department, The Siedenburg Group provides a real estate perspective to the operational team. This results in solutions with sound real estate fundamentals and realistic economics. We assist in identifying how corporate goals interact with current real estate holdings and create strategies to meet required needs. Mr. Siedenburg’s contributions to the Greater Des Moines community include: Hope Ministries Board of Directors-(36 years) Greater Des Moines Partnership Member; (two years as chairman of the Air Service Council). Wildwood Hills Ranch: Acquisition and development of the non-profit, 400-acre ranch located in St. Charles, Iowa. Dedicated to serving at-risk youth in Iowa.
