Mr. DeMartino joined the leasing team in September of 2008. As Vice President his main responsibilities include all tenant client relationship management as well as canvassing and stacking buildings. Derek has been responsible for developing & updating Jones Lang LaSalle’s New Jersey tenant & building database. Prior to joining the leasing team, Mr. DeMartino was a senior project manager for the Northeast region of Jones Lang LaSalle. He recently managed projects for both Ernst & Young and Towers Perrin. On the Ernst & Young account he was the project manager for all projects in the Northeast region which consisted of office fit-outs in Secaucus and Iselin, NJ as well as projects in Manchester, NH, Providence, RI, and Philadelphia, PA. The Towers Perrin project is located in Parsippany, NJ and was an expansion space to their current office located in the same building. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr. DeMartino was employed by The Gale Company for 6 years as a construction project manager handling Class A office projects. During his time at Gale, he managed projects that included an 8 story office building and parking garage structure for Siemens Corporation, a hospital expansion for Kessler Rehabilitation, as well as numerous interior fit-out’s for clients such as ADP, United Healthcare, and North Jersey Media. The responsibilities on each of these projects included estimating, budgeting, site plan reviews, soliciting and awarding subcontractors, contract negotiations, scheduling, value engineering, change order resolutions, managing field staff, and project close-out. Other related experience includes project management experience at The Troast Group and Toll Brothers, Inc. managing projects throughout New Jersey. Mr. DeMartino is a graduate of Penn State University holding a Bachelors Degree in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in construction management. He also holds a New Jersey Real Estate License since 1999.
