Debbie was born & raised in the Yakima Valley & graduated from AC Davis High School in 1970. She went on to Oral Robert University & transferred to the University of Tulsa where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Psychology. After returning to Yakima in 1975, Debbie met & married her husband, Stephen. They moved to the Aberdeen area where they had their children, Jacob & Sarah. During that time, Debbie was a county coordinator for social services & then was hired to be the executive director of a non-profit organization in 1977, Timberland Opportunities. Timberland provided training, employment & Placement services to developmentally disabled adults. Debbie moved to Marysville in 1989, when Stephen was hired by the Snohomish School District & eventually became an Executive Director to the Superintendent, in charge of Special Services. He retired from that job in 2004 & is now a Senior Faculty Advisor with City-University. Her children, Jacob & Sarah, both graduated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School. Jacob works for Debbie & is pursuing his own business. Sarah, after playing basketball & attending North N. Seattle Community College, is taking a break from college, assisting the Basketball Program at M-PHS, and working. Steve and Debbie have volunteered for years in the community including Marysville Little League, Youth Soccer, AAU Basketball, Marysville Booster Club, Windermere Community Service, & more. Debbie believes in supporting her community.
