ABOUT

As a Leasing Representative for Blackwater Resources at The Centre of Tallahassee, Debbie Ashlin was responsible for leasing 800,000 square feet of mall shopping space. In this role, Debbie cultivated and maintained relationships with a diverse range of tenants, including national, regional, and local business operators. With an extensive understanding of market trends and rental rates, she proactively sought out new tenants through methods such as cold calling, e-blasts, and in-person canvassing. At the Tallahassee Mall, Debbie oversaw the leasing of 1,000,000 square feet of shopping space, focusing on driving revenue by prospecting new tenants and managing renewals of short-term License Agreements and long-term Leases. She secured retailers through cold-calling and ongoing canvassing of the local and regional markets, managing deals through all stages—from initial negotiations and unit design to fully executed agreements, move-ins, and sales reporting. Additionally, Debbie monitored retailer activities and collaborated with the shopping center’s General Manager to resolve issues, while negotiating rents and lease terms with specialty retailers. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Family and Child Sciences with a minor in Special Education from Florida State University. She is a licensed real estate agent and an active member of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and Access Tallahassee.
