Dean Stewart

Not only is Charles City America's Hometown, it's Dean's hometown. Dean graduated from Charles City High School in 1980 and the University of Northern Iowa in 1984. After graduation Dean worked first as a stockbroker and then as a sales manager until the expansion of Larry Stewart Realty presented him with the opportunity to move back home and work with his father in 1988. When Dean bought the firm from him 20 years later, Stewart Realty Company became the first second-generation agency in the area. The year Dean moved back to Charles City, he married his high school sweetheart, Sara Fluhrer. Sara works as a speech language pathologist at Floyd County Medical Center, and they have three very active sons, Ryan, Nick, and Adam. In addition to the boys' church, music and sporting events, Dean stays involved in the community through a variety of leadership positions. He has taken turns as director, secretary, treasurer, vice-president and president of the Cedar Valley Board of REALTORS®. Dean has also been a member and past President of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Charles City School Board Advisory Committee, and a past president of the local chapter of Rotary International. With his family, he attends Bethany Alliance Church, where he has served as a middle school and high school youth leader.
