David Richards

David directs the Company’s general brokerage efforts, investing the majority of his time representing buyers and sellers of land. Years of experience with purchase and sale transactions involving a wide range of improved and unimproved property types, and his broad understanding of development issues enable him to guide his clients to sound real estate investment decisions. David primarily represents buyers and developers of retail, industrial, hotel, office and residential properties, with clients ranging from small, local developers to large publicly traded real estate investment trusts. He also has extensive listing experience, helping a wide range of sellers realize maximum value for their properties. Prior to forming Richards Commercial Properties, David enjoyed over twenty years of business experience primarily involved in real estate and construction activities, including commercial and residential development and construction, historic property renovation, and general brokerage. He was a licensed general contractor in both Virginia and North Carolina. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he earned a BS degree in horticulture, and is a member of several professional, community and church organizations.
