Dave Kunkel founded Kunkel Commercial Group (KCG) in 2007 and has been working in all aspects of commercial real estate for more than 30 years. Since he began in the industry, he has enjoyed working closely with his clients, helping them make informed decisions that best meet their commercial real estate requirements. Dave always remains focused on the needs of his clients in the areas of leasing, tenant representation, development and property management. Dave learned the ropes of the real estate business by working at Trammell Crow Company in the ever-changing St. Louis market. There, he was responsible for maintaining in excess of six million square feet of office, medical, retail and industrial space. Before focusing his efforts in the Metro-East, he worked for Scott Properties where he leased and managed more than a million square feet of medical, office, retail and industrial space. As a Metro-East native, Dave was pleased to return to the area and open his own company where his customer-centered approach is focused on sales, leasing and property management services. Dave Kunkel purchased Cecil Management Group, Inc. (CMG) in October of 2015 from Dorcas Cecil. CMG is one of the largest residential property management companies in the St. Louis Metro East area and currently manages approximately 900 residential properties with an office staff of 20 and a crew of 7 maintenance technicians. Growth has predominately come from referrals of CMG’s client base over the last 35+ years. The growth and development of CMG’s professional staff has evolved in a similar manner. CMG has attracted high-quality, committed professionals and has invested in their training, development and growth. As a result of those efforts CMG is the recognized leader in the metro east whose success is the result of our Clients. Owning both Kunkel Commercial Group and Cecil Management Group, and having worked with Renee Wittenauer as a partner for several years, it was a logical decision to merge the two companies. The merger and renaming to Kunkel Wittenauer Group brings tremendous value and cohesion for Kunkel Wittenauer Group’s real estate clients as Dave and Renee share the same passion for delivering excellent customer service. Kunkel Wittenauer Group can now efficiently and effectively provide all of their real estate services under one company name and expand on past successes. Dave holds a Bachelor’s degree from SIU-Carbondale. He resides in Shiloh with his wife Gail (who also works at KWG) and his son Travis. When not working he is an avid boater.
