Christina moved to Durango in 1999 and brought with her a passion for healthy communities. Her education in environmental science at Purdue University led her to seek out projects that reflected her values for in-fill, green building practices, and reuse of centrally located space. Starting with the renovation of the Durango Office Suites building, Christina became the sales and project manager for the new Crossroads Durango development on a neighboring vacant lot, which flourished into a vibrant $20 million dollar mixed-use office and residential building. This project allowed for over 40 offices and 12 residential spaces, all customized to reflect each person's needs and style. Christina has served two 4-year terms on Durango's City Council, including two terms as Mayor, and is also connected to the community through the La Plata County Economic Alliance, Leadership La Plata, Trails 2000, Green Business Roundtable, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Women's Resource Center, KSUT Public Radio, and fundraising for the Boys and Girls Club and Powerhouse Science Center. She and her partner co-own a local, independent real estate company in the heart of downtown Durango. She thrives serving the community and reinforcing sustainability through her work, her civic roles, and her commitment and passion for matching people with the perfect home or office. In her free time, Christina loves hiking, mountain biking, and running throughout the area, sharing great local food with friends, and spending time with her blended family.
