Biju was born and raised in India. After earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, he immigrated to Canada. Biju’s passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) led him to a career innovating next generation technology. He worked in a large bio-medical firm for more than 15 years in Canada. In University, his interest in literature, poetry, and travel developed into a passion as he worked with world-renowned and celebrated artist, authors and poets and organized many arts, literature and film related festivals. His passion for art and literature led him to the Film industry. As community leader, Biju has held positions as the President of the India Canada Association (ICA), Director of Best Cure Foundation, President and Director of ICCC ( Indo Canadian Community Center), Director of the Festival of India and President of the Malayalee Association of Ottawa. He has also been an effective voice of the Indian Community at various levels including all three levels of government ensuring that the needs of the community are well understood. Biju George has been instrumental in bringing the entire Indian community in Ottawa together by bridging differences and ensuring that the community spoke with one voice. He is the founder of two large Indian gatherings in Ottawa from its conception and which have now become a norm in Ottawa. This includes the India Unity Picnic – a gathering of more than a thousand people at a single annual event and founding director of Festival of India. He was key to the founding of the new Malayalam language School and Festival of Kerala in Ottawa to promote the language, art and heritage among children. Also he is the founder of Spring Festival and Indo Canadian center for art and culture. He has also been key to fundraising to several international disaster relief efforts including those during the Haiti Earthquake, Bangladesh storm, Tsunami tragedies as well as the Nepal Earthquakes. He is the Founding CEO of Caneast Films inc.. He works selflessly for the community and people. Whenever there is need he is ready to help them even at the most odd times. He is a true community leader and community builder.
