Ben Stowers spent much of his childhood traipsing around Atlanta with his father, Mel, looking at buildings and digging post holes for Stowers & Company listing signs. In 2014, following years spent watching his father nurture relationships, weather market fluctuations, and positively impact the Atlanta real estate landscape, Ben formally joined the family business at Stowers & Company. Today Ben specializes in working with local business owners and helping them find space to be successful in the intown Atlanta market. Prior to joining Stowers & Company, Ben gained a strong background in sustainability while working on an organic farm. His interest in policy and politics and degree in political science allowed him to play a role in Nathan Deal’s successful gubernatorial campaign. In 2010, Ben secured a position with the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), combining his interests in the environment and sustainability with policy and politics. In 2011, as funding for DNR was being cut, Ben helped start the Georgia Natural Resources Foundation (GNRF) to raise money for projects formerly funded by DNR. As executive director, Ben helped raised significant dollars for DNR initiatives like the popular GPB program, Georgia Outdoors; building and restoring artificial oyster reefs; and purchasing search and rescue equipment for Georgia’s state park personnel. Ben earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia. He loves intown living in Reynoldstown and still finds time to get out in nature. He maintains a strong interest in sustainability and smart growth.
